Culture Lights aims to design two flexible, learner-centered VET curricula programmes addressing blue-collar and white- collar professionals of the construction and lighting sectors, in the framework of the preservation and sustainability of cultural heritage buildings.
Specific focus will be given to:

  • OBJECTIVE 1 – Design and installation of sustainable lighting systems while also preserving the cultural value of the buildings

  • OBJECTIVE 2 – Enhancing the interaction between renovation construction professionals and cultural building employees and users

  • OBJECTIVE 3 – Encouraging sustainable behaviours and lifestyles via the exchange of ideas and views on sustainable conservation of the buildings and energy efficiency strategies

Culture Lights training for Blue-Collar professionals: “Sustainable Lighting for Historic and
Culturally Significant Buildings” (Italian language course)

The partners of CultureLights, Melting Pro and ELCA European Lighting Cluster Alliance, propose a new Vocational Educational Training (VET) course tailored to the needs of lighting and building professionals.

The new course is designed for installers, technicians, electricians, builders, and employees of lighting companies with at least an EQF level 4 qualification. It presents a concrete opportunity to update skills and work within historic and culturally significant buildings.

The course, ” Sustainable Lighting for Historic and Culturally Significant Buildings,” lasts a total of 13 hours (10 hours online and 2 hours in self-learning mode). It takes place over two online sessions on Monday, November 18, from 9:00 to 16:00, and Monday, November 25, from 9:00 to 13:00. The curriculum is divided into 5 distinct modules, each focusing on a key aspect of sustainable lighting in historical contexts:

  1. Lighting in the history of architecture
  2. Lighting fixture structures, working modes, historical models
  3. Control systems for lighting fixtures
  4. Introduction to DALI, KNX, CASAMBI programming
  5. Certification systems for sustainable building lighting (focus on historic buildings)

Participants who complete the training by attending all sessions and successfully passing the evaluation quizzes will receive a certificate of participation.

Culture Lights training for White-Collar professionals: “Illuminazione ecosostenibile per edifici storici e di interesse culturale” (Italian language course)

CultureLights partners, ELCA European Lighting Cluster Alliance and Melting Pro, are organizing a comprehensive Vocational Educational Training (VET) curricula tailored to the needs of lighting and building professionals. This program, titled “Illuminazione ecosostenibile per edifici storici e di interesse culturale”, focuses on the preservation and sustainability of cultural heritage buildings, with a specific emphasis on lighting.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Architects, engineers, lighting designers and employees of lighting industry companies.

COURSE DETAILS: The course consists of 4 lessons (8 modules + 1 final workshop “lighting project”), starting on 19.09.2024. The lessons will be conducted in person in Italian at the ELCA office, located at Via dei Marcello 13/11, 35017 Piombino Dese (PD).

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

  • Design and install sustainable lighting systems that preserve the cultural value of buildings
  • Enhance collaboration between construction and renovation professionals and the employees/users of cultural heritage buildings
  • Promote sustainable behaviors and lifestyles in building conservation and energy efficiency strategies
